FINAL CHARACTER DESIGN

Ghost Chef:

Yuyang told me that our chef is a wandering soul who takes his most precious possessions with him. So I designed a package for him with photos of his family and the tools he uses to cook. I designed a costume for him in the style of the witch’s costume. I wanted him to look tall and friendly, so he looks much taller than the witch.

Witch:

We did a lot of setups for the witch, and now this character setup is a combination of Yourong, Victor and my idea together. The style has become more unique from the western witch at the beginning to the oriental witch. The witch’s hat and robe have also become a Chinese bucket hat and water sleeves.

Bottle Idea

To design the witch’s bottle, I incorporated ingredients, potions and bottles. And I think witches can also grow bottle ingredients with magic. Like fruit bottle trees, vegetable bottles. Because her magic is unique, so she can make special dishes, including spices is potions too.

More idea…

Witch’s eyebrows are black because Witch used to have black hair, and I think she was exposed to magic and lost her human personality for some reason.
The Witch’s hairstyle was something that popped into my head when I saw Yourong.

Reflection

I have learnt a lot during the first term of the Food and Bottle Project. In the Food and Bottle group, our group had some conflicts in the discussion. So at the beginning we had some fights. Because each of us had a unique idea, we couldn’t come to a consensus, which led to a fight during our group discussion. But after we all calmed down, we told each other what we really thought. We are actually very good friends. We didn’t want to make everyone unhappy because of the group work. Then we rewrote the story and divided the work between us. It was a different experience, but it taught me a lot. First of all, when we work in a group, we should know that we don’t all have the same idea, everyone has their own unique ideas. We need to take the best of them and discard the worst, rather than forcing everyone to understand our own ideas. We should patiently listen to the ideas of the group members and seriously express our own ideas. We can make the work better together.
